[Platform_Windows]Nested timeline audio plays when jumped with gotoAndStop


Problem Description:

I develop games that contain a lot of character animation, working with a lot of animators and designers. This often means having different 'scenes' that consist of movieclips on the main timeline. So I might have a frame label "scene1", and on the stage will be a movieclip called 'scene1' that contains nested content for scene 1. On some user generated event I might then skip to frame scene2, that is set up in the same way.
These scenes will often contain character movieclips that will have labelled keyframes set up along their timeline that house nested movieclips of different animatino states (eg, idle, walk, jump, etc). These animations may often require carefully timed audio at some point in their duration. which requires using timeline sound.
If I make the timeline jump past one of these scenes (eg jump from scene 1 to scene 3, passing scene 2 on the way) the nested movieclips play continously, ignoring any 'stop()' commands that might be present, and playing all the sounds on the timeline.

Any Workarounds:

The only workaround is to avoid using timeline sound altogether.
To be frank, this problem has existed since flash CS3. I have just downloaded the demo of flash cs5.5 and it is still not fixed. Needless to say I am pretty cross about this! We have been unable to use timeline sound for years now, so you have cost us so much extra time wasted working around the issue by rigging up elaborate systems for playing all sound through code - it is infuriating!

    thing is it is more serius than it seems, when you cheat the bug and use Sound class to call the sound, someties that's not enought and the sounds keep sounding in the background, I'm wondering if Flash is running more process out of sight. This could be a much bigger bug we even think.

    This is still a problem for me, and I'm amazed that it's not fixed.
    Not being able to control sound (reliably) via the timeline is not acceptable. It's just not feasible sometimes to do it through code, and it would be nice to rely on the timeline.
    This is a serious issue if you are making animations, and I keep resorting to working around this issue with every version of Flash. Please fix it.

    Incidentally I just got around to testing this in flash cs6 (on a mac) and the bug is still there...

    It is quite serious bug and causes it is not possible to use timeline at all in some cases.
    Please fix it as soon as possible! It is very long time since it was reported.

    Another work around is to put a stop on the first frame of the 'scene' movieclip and shunt all the content along to frame 2. Then the playhead can skip over the scene without its content playing. But this is a big hassle because in AS3, when I call gotoAndStop I can't immediately access the movieclips that are on the timeline at the new frame. I'd have to add an event listener to wait until the frame is ready after calling gotoAndStop, before trying to access them, which would make my code needlessly convoluted and hard to follow.

    I am forced to completely avoid using Timeline in some cases and my projects is unnecessarily complicated because cannot see the content visually.
    It was reported years ago and it is still not fixed even in beta FP11.

    This bug is really annoying and was one of the main problems when we have been rewriting our project from AS2 to AS3.
