[Platform_Windows]There should be an option for silent (prompt-free) automatic updates (version 2)
I discovered in a forum thread that the "Allow Adobe to install updates" option does not make the Flash updater fully silent in all cases.
Presently, it works like this:
"A quarterly update will:
prompt for update within 7 days (after reboot on Windows)
silently update after 30 days if the user has not accepted the prompt before then
If a security/hotfix release is made before 30 days, the system will update to that within 24 hours."
IMO, this is a needless distinction, and our users don't want to see any update prompts from Flash. This will not only lead to support calls and/or confusion but also a significant number of our users not getting updated for 30 days. Understandably, this delay would not apply for critical updates, but the prompting is the main issue.
Certainly, non-critical updates can be pushed out on a more leisurely schedule than that of hotfixes, but please enable some means of true silent updating as I expected you already had. I believe (though am not sure) that Adobe Reader 10.3 works this way (if it doesn't, it should, too).
Note to Adobe Support Team:
Just copy and paste the 5 following files on your ******* servers so we can get the 11.4 update instead of thousands of popups on users screen each morning and hundreds of service call
OK here we go:
1st file: install_all_win_64_ax_sgn.z
2nd file: install_all_win_64_pl_sgn.z
3rd file: install_all_win_ax_sgn.z
4th file: install_all_win_pl_sgn.z
5th file: version.xml
GOD this is painful, it's cleary the most expensive freeware ever.

Waiting 30 days to install security patches is not acceptable.
